FFLSafe is already the best and most compliant FFL software for A&D books and now it has the simplest e4473!
Although the Acquisition and Disposition book (A&D) is the heart of an FFL’s records, the ATF Form 4473 is the biggest liability.
Why? Well, it’s because 7 out of the top 10 violations every year from the ATF have to do with the 4473, there are many rules and nuances to how the form works, and even typos and “minor” mistakes can be big problems.
If you’re already using FFLSafe for your A&D record, you already understand the benefits of electronic records and you already know how simple and clean FFLSafe is compared to other systems – our new e4473 is no different.
If you’re ready to try it out, start a disposition and select “E4473” after choosing “Individual without an FFL.”.
FFLSafe’s e4473 Features
We’re really proud of our new e4473 and hope that you’ll like it too.
If you’ve used another e4473 you should immediately notice how much simpler it is to use – the whole process just makes sense and you won’t be jumping back and forth between multiple screens, clicking around to select numerous options, nor having to troubleshoot with your customer what went wrong.
Instead, you’ll start the e4473 during a disposition, confirm some information, let the customer use any device (including their own phone) to complete and sign their portion, and then finalize the form and be done!
Too many other systems, including the ATF’s own system, are not much more than electronic versions of a pdf form that require lots of scrolling and reading through things.
An electronic pdf is better than a paper one, however, that doesn’t add much benefit to the process and it does nothing to help prevent the errors normally encountered on the paper form. It also makes it really difficult to review information and find where an error may be.
Our e4473 is very simple to use – it walks you through the whole process, makes it easy for your customer to see what information goes where, and it even sends automatic backups of every form to your email inbox!
Using the FFLSafe e4473
Our e4473 starts right from the disposition screen and has you confirm Section A information before sending it to the customer.
Next, the customer uses any device (your computer or tablet or even their own phone) to fill out their part, Section B. Their part allows them to move through their section one portion at a time and makes it really easy to understand what information is needed before moving on.
Once they’re done and they’ve signed the 4473 electronically, the form comes back to you to satisfy the background check requirements and finalize the form.
Once everything is complete, you’ll print out the form and put it in your records. And, if anything goes wrong during the process (loss of power, forgot to download the form, printing messes up, etc), don’t worry! You’ll have a copy of the form (whether partial or complete) sitting in your email inbox every time (check out how to set up your inbox for tips and tricks)
